Profile
Nottingham Business School, part of Nottingham Trent University, is one of the UK's largest and leading full-service business schools. In 2009-10, we will celebrate 30 years of excellence in management education, though the history of business and management programmes at the University dates back almost 50 years. Our approach has always been forward-thinking. We have redefined the market for undergraduate, postgraduate and corporate education by providing courses designed to transform business and industry. Through the application of knowledge and the development of people, we bridge the gap between traditional higher education teaching, corporate education and research.
Areas of specialisation
In the last two decades, the face of business has been transformed by a range of factors including globalisation, the emergence of the knowledge economy and shifts in the nature of management itself. Nottingham Business School's flagship MBA programme has been developed in line with these important changes. Our aim is to complement and build on the practical and work-based ways in which people develop their managerial and leadership understanding, their sensitivity to organisational events and their ability to make business choices.
An essential component of our MBA is the Consultancy Project. Designed to integrate theory while putting it into practice, students work in small groups consulting businesses on a real-life business issue within the UK or internationally, depending on the modules chosen. As an experienced team of academic-practitioners, we work hard to support each of our students, providing stimulating teaching, suitable learning environments and support according to their personal, pastoral and academic needs.
